Current team is admin, 3 head mods (tsu, ika, -w-) who act as moderator across the site, and one janitor on /kr/ (joyuriz). As the site grows we'll recruit board-specifc mods and jans from the communities within.
Our mod policy is to be light-handed as possible, and only intervene to extend the community's expressed will against disruptors, outsiders, etc. The site is built with moderator transparency and accountability by default.
Can you make an account on twitter or something similar to update when servers are down or are having trouble, would be super helpful! Thanks!
>>41286 # Good suggestion. We're currently loosely using the discord but I understand it's cancer, especially software-wise, most people don't want to bother with. IRC is effective for staff communication but I wouldn't want to subject it to the users.
Twitter format does seem perfect for quick updates like that, might be able to automate it as well. I'll look into it.
>>42795 # Fedi is more robust and all but it increases inaccessibility, inconvenience for what's just a simple server status log. But I suppose there wouldn't be any difficulty in duplicating tweets to Pleroma.
>>53540 # Mastodon poorly optimized, censorious. No reason to ever use it over Pleroma.
Hello. It seems that /j/ has lost four fifths of its userbase. I like /j/ and would like to see it return to the usercount it had before the site outage. Are there any plans for marketing etc. such as when the website first went up?
>>69302 # Then start posting on it more, only two new threads have been made. This isnt an issue with /j/ its an issue with the community not being active enough. We will advertise for it but a oldfag community has activity problems
>>69302 # Thank you for the new home btw, we were already bigger than /mu/ and /kr/ at 4chan was never going to happen. Dead site.
where do i erp
>>69302 # Yes, but there are a few more QOL fixes we still have on the table before we feel ready for a "hard" launch: frontpage, boards all listed on header, fixing the DB metadata bug and a fall-back spoiler-style image for the previous server's broken images.
>>93347 # None. Threads are automatically pruned after a certain number of max days or after not receiving any new posts for 3 days. However, threads start to experience slowdowns after too many posts, so people tend to migrate at around 1000.
Keep getting this error when trying to access /kr/ and the top right continues to say "connecting" and never connects though I can see the thread updating, is there a way to fix this on my end, cookies being cleared doesn't seem to do the trick
>>114442 # It appears on different devices, different connections, with cookies, without cookies.
>>114442 # This was my mistake, and was responsible for the server freeze we just saw. Was experimenting with introducing a new command, didn't realize I left a bug nor that that would be responsible for the odd 'no rows result' error from the last couple days.
Was able to fix by rolling back a few days commits. My bad!
Sorry if this isn't the right place but is there a way to retract/collapse webms after opening them?
>>170575 # We interviewed a couple people from /xivg/ who came into the discord after a discussion on how to best handle the spam/trolling, and chose one: >>172970
The stance is intervention when a minority disruptor is damaging the health/quality of the community against the greater group's wishes. That's definitely in line with stepping in to discourage a low quality spammer, but it takes someone actually from the community to know when it's best to do that. Oftentimes it's the users repeatedly trolled who are cancer, not the shitposters trolling them.
i would like an option to hide filenames or randomize it. don't want to be identified with them
>>173548 # is uploading images from clipboard also planned?
>>173548 # You said IRC earlier for staff, but only linked to a Discord. Is there an actual IRC?
Am I dumb for hoping to make IRL friends through this website? I know that’s not what it’s really intended for. The thing is, I don’t play the video games that are popular here, nor do I intend to start... I would like to avoid wasting time if that’s so. There are tons of imageboards, Aurora, Uboa, Sushigirl.us, that one post office themed one, the ###chans, Dangeru.us, and a few other that I have saved somewhere. (I liked crystal.cafe but I’m a guy so it never worked out as a way to meet people.) Why post here if there no one to talk to and no possibility of reaching out?
I've noticed they're no ads and I don't see a donation link. It's great that we can post high resolution photos in /kr/, but I feel bad though because I know bandwidth isn't free and we're basically spamming kpop.
If the FFXIV people dominate /v/ to an extent, should there be a Final Fantasy board?
